TAMARINDO GUIDE  & INFORMATION

From world-class surfing beaches to untouched wildlife refuges— zipline adventures to rainforest hikes— Costa Rica invites you to experience its endless wonders, where there’s something for everyone. Come and discover what awaits.

ABOUT TAMARINDO

This Guanacaste beach town lies at the heart of Costa Rica’s Gold Coast Beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula. Becoming famous for its unparalleled surfing location thanks to the cult classic surf film, The Endless Summer, Tamarindo has grown into a micro metropolis— a thriving and culturally diverse community known for its year-round warm weather and plethora of outdoor adventure activities. With an abundance of stunning natural vistas, sustainable living communities, wellness centers and outdoor lifestyle, it’s no surprise Tamarindo finds itself in one of the planet’s largest Blue Zones— where life expectancy is amongst the highest in the world and expats from all over the world come to indulge in this slice of heaven on earth.

THE EVOLUTION OF TAMARINDO

As a former fishing community that has transformed into a vibrant playground for surfers, beach goers, nature lovers, yogis and adrenaline junkies alike, Tamarindo attracts thousands of visitors each year. Having become a bustling destination filled with markets, shops, restaurants and nightlife, this town is the ideal combination of city meets nature— catering to anyone who craves an authentic Costa Rican jungle to beach experience with the comfort of modern amenities at their disposal.

TAMARINDO WEATHER

Like most of Costa Rica, this area is divided into two seasons; the dry season, typically spanning from December to April, and the green season which lasts from May to November. All year long, the daytime temperature averages around 85ºF providing for warm and comfortable conditions to lounge by the pool or show off your summer wardrobe.

Dry season, known as “summer” here, normally has clear skies and breezy conditions lending to the boundless, gold-gleaming sunsets. Green season brings the serene rains that make the jungles bloom into their full glory. From May-August the occasional thunderstorms are beautiful to watch as they pass over the ocean and as they create the most colorful sunset palette of clouds as they pass. September and October are usually the wettest and least crowded months to visit.

ELITE BEACH VILLAS LOCATIONS IN TAMARINDO

On the northern end of Tamarindo Beach, Casa Alang Alang and Sunset House are situated in the ideal location, with scenic, unobstructed views of Playa Grande and Las Baulas National Park— a nesting ground for the endemic giant leatherback turtles. Rich in wildlife, the area is home to a wide array of exotic species such as monkeys, iguanas and tropical birds. The park is protected by law, so our residents can count on unspoiled nature.

Villa Morabeza and Villa Monoi are located steps from the beach inside a private gated community on the southernmost end of Tamarindo Beach at Punta San Francisco— a point which divides Playa Tamarindo to the north, from Playa Langosta to the south. Guests at these villas have membership access to the nearby Langosta Beach Club included in their stay. Access to these homes is at the entrance of Langosta, but the homes face and have access to the south end of Playa Tamarindo. The views here extend over the entire bay toward Playa Grande.

Whichever home you choose, you'll enjoy the same breathtaking beach views, easy access to the shore, and close proximity to markets and restaurants—all while being immersed in a jungle paradise with the comforts of home at your fingertips.
